Armless Pianist Wins 'China's Got Talent'

Liu Wei, a 23 years old armless pianist who lost both arms in a childhood accident and plays the piano with his toes, has won China's Got Talent. Liu Wei performed his version of James Blunt's love song You're Beautiful to a packed audience at the Shanghai Stadium.



Liu's arms were amputated after he suffered an electrical shock while playing hide-and-seek when he was 10.

At the age of 18, he decided to pursue a career in music, using his feet to play the piano, much as he uses them to navigate on the computer, eat, dress and brush his teeth.

Ukrainian Bell Carol

Ukrainian Bell Carol (AKA Carol of the Bells or Shchedryk) has become one of the world's most recognizable Christmas carols, played by multiple bands in hundreds of versions and adaptations. It was written by a Ukrainian composer Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych in 1916, and is based on an ancient Ukrainian folk melody. The carol was adapted into an English language version by a Ukrainian-American composer and choir director Peter Wilhousky in the 1930s.

Little Drummers

A friend of mine shared an awesome video of a 4 year-old Jonah's drum cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It. Unfortunately they had to shut off video embedding for legal reasons as the videos are of a child, and the music covered is owned by respective artists. Regardless of the formalities however, it definitely worth following the link and watching! Jonah has his own web-site www.JonahRocks.com and can be followed on YouTube, Twitter and MySpace.

A series of flash-mobs from around the world paying tribute to Michael Jackson, started by the Swedish streetdance company Bounce...

In Stockholm, more than 300 dancers met at 15.30, got informed and then learned the choreography in 30 min. Less then 1 hour later they performed it.



In Bucharest, around 200 people gathered to bring an homage to the unique Michael Jackson on his birthday, the 29th of August.



Other cities around the world followed the call: Mexico City, Paris, Amsterdam, Seattle and many many others. Kudos to Karym for sharing this with me!

This is a famous Ukrainian folk song, sung by Milla Jovovich in her Divine Comedy album.



Milla Jovovich was born in Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine to Bogdanovitch Jovovich (father, Serbian doctor), and Galina Loginova Jovovich (mother, Russian actress). In 1981, Milla and her family left the Soviet Union and moved to London, England and then to Sacramento, California, ultimately settling in Los Angeles.
